This is the standard LG dryer thermistor.  If yours is off-value, then your LG dryer will not heat properly, and may generate a TE1 or TE3 error code. Replacing this sensor should restore proper heat cycling to your dryer. Please note the standard thermistor chart on what is considered a nominal value.
